Sedation Dentistry
At Family Dental Health Center we offer sedation dentistry for patients who experience a lot of anxiety over dental procedures. This isn’t an uncommon fear. A lot of people never get the care they need because they are nervous – or even afraid – of coming into the office.
You don’t have to put up with toothaches or wait any longer to get the smile you’ve always wanted. We can help you overcome those concerns so you can come in and receive the care you need.
How Does Sedation Dentistry Work?
Sedation dentistry and sleep dentistry are terms that are often used interchangeably, but it’s not quite accurate. If we determine that this is the right option for you, you will not actually be asleep during the procedure. You will normally be awake, although the level of sedation may be very deep, depending on your needs.
The most common form of sedation is the use of medication that helps you relax before coming into the office. You simply take the medicine about an hour before your visit so you’ll be completely at ease when you come in. Of course, this does mean you’ll need someone to drive you safely to and from the office.
Is Sedation Right For You?
If you experience anxiety at the thought of any dental procedure, or if you have a low tolerance to pain, or extremely sensitive teeth, this may be the right option for you. There are several levels of sedation that we can achieve, so even if you’re a little concerned about an upcoming procedure, talk to us about it and we’ll make sure you get the right treatment for your situation.
At Family Dental Health Center we are committed to creating a comfortable, relaxing, and welcoming environment. Contact us today to set up your appointment.
